Without a specialized application, issuing and depositing books in a library can be hard work and it may involve large piles of papers. Library Manager can make a librarian's job much easier. It can be used to keep track of members, staff, books, loans, overdue books and more. The software can generate detailed reports instantly, print barcodes and member ID cards. In other words, it relieves you from any work that involves filling in countless forms.

If you have a slow Internet connection, it may take several minutes to download the 52.4 MB setup file. The good news is that you can install the software's components much faster. The setup wizard will not slow you down with any confusing options, so you may complete the procedure in a few moments. You should also know that Library Manager is available in different versions, for Windows 7, Vista, XP and any earlier edition.

Besides displaying the name and a picture of your library, you can not do much on the main interface. You can manage books, members and perform other tasks, on separate windows. Customers and staff members can be added to different databases. Furthermore, you can issue books to clients and staff members separately. When you add a new book to your database, you can specify a wide range of information, including title and author, publisher, place, subject, year, cost and much more. An important piece of information is the book's accession number, which you must use when loaning the book.

Library Manager is an excellent solution for schools and universities as well. When you create a new entry in the customers database, you can specify a university enrollment number, a branch or class, semester and more. You can issue or deposit books, on a small window, on which you must type in the client's database ID, the book's accession number and select a certain number of days. If one or more books are already issued to a student or member, a new option will appear, on the same window, when you type his ID. Clicking this option will display a full report regarding the person's loans. Another interesting feature is the possibility of creating book reservations for students or staff members.

Books are not the only items which you can issue in a library. This is why Library Manager allows you to create additional databases for magazines, newspapers and digital media. These items can be issued or deposited the same way. When you add a new magazine or newspaper, the software will assign an ID number automatically. You can issue or deposit these items the same way. Working with staff members is much easier. A person's database entry may contain his qualifications, designation, department and more. When you issue a book for a staff member, you can select his department and name from separate drop menus.

Pros

You can manage books, magazines, digital media, library and staff members and more. You can issue a book to a member or an employee just by inserting the person's ID and the book's accession number. When you issue a book, the software also tells you if the person has recently loaned an item. Moreover, you can generate, save and print various reports.

Cons

You will not encounter any serious issues. Thanks to Library Manager's straightforward and efficient functionality, librarians will be able to work much faster and in a more comfortable manner.
